2007-2008 Gaelic Football Season

This page provides information about the competitions being offered for the 2007-2008 Gaelic Football season in South Australia.

Information for New Players & Teams

New players and teams are always welcome. No previous Gaelic Football experience is required. Gaelic Football is a very easy game to learn and coaching will be provided to assist new players and teams to learn the rules.

Cost for players is $30 for registration and approximately $7 per match. To register your interest to play, please complete this form or e-mail your details to info@gaelicfootballsa.com.au. We will then provide your details to an appropriate team.

Competitions

Men's State League | Women's State League | St. Mary's Men's 9-a-side | Gaza Men's 7-a-side | St. Mary's Juniors

Men's State League

  • 13-a-side competition (13 players on field with up to 6 interchange players).
  • St. Mary's Park, Laura Ave, St. Mary's.
  • Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Friday games between 6:45pm and finished by 10:30pm. Sunday matches are normally between 5:00pm and finished by around 9:00pm. (Each team plays 1 game per week, alternating between Friday and Sunday).
  • Commences Sunday 21st October 2007, concludes mid March 2008.
  • Nominations are now CLOSED.
  • Teams (7): Flinders O'Neills, Irish Australians, Na Fianna, Onkaparinga, St. Brendan's, Titans, Western Ireland.
  • Fixture and Results

Women's  State League

  • 13-a-side competition (13 players on field with up to 6 interchange players).
  • St. Mary's Park, Laura Ave, St. Mary's.
  • Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Friday games between 6:45pm and finished by 10:30pm. Sunday matches are normally between 5:00pm and finished by around 9:00pm. (Each team plays 1 game per week, alternating between Friday and Sunday).
  • Commences Sunday 21st October 2007, concludes mid March 2008.

  • Teams (6): Cougars, Irish Australians, Irish Aust. Rovers, Na Fianna, Onkaparinga, Crusaders.

St. Mary's Men's  9-a-side

  • 9-a-side competition (9 players on field with up to 6 interchange players).
  • St. Mary's Park, Laura Ave, St. Mary's.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Games between 6:20pm and finished by 9.40pm. (Each team plays 1 game per week, alternating between Tuesday and Wednesday).
  • Commences Tuesday 23rd October 2007, concludes mid February 2008.
  • Nominations are now CLOSED.
  • Teams: (12) Angry Leprechauns, Jets, Laydown Rams, Onkaparinga, Red Lions, Shenanigans, Irwin Allstars, Surps, Titans, Titans U18's, Western Ireland, and (name TBA).

Gaza Men's 7-a-side

  • There is no 7-a-side competition at Gaza for the 2007/08 season.

St. Mary's Juniors

  • New Junior Programs at St. Mary's Park, Laura Ave, St. Mary's will be announced soon.
  • Ages 6 - 14 to be held on Sunday mornings.
  • Under 15 and Under 18 competitions for boys and for girls will be held on Monday evenings.
