Development:: Juniors & Schools

As part of our commitment to junior development, The Gaelic Football & Hurling Association of South Australia employs a part-time Development Officer, thanks to assistance from the Office for Recreation and Sport. The Development Officer conducts coaching clinics at schools throughout Adelaide for junior primary, primary and secondary school students. A SACE program is also available for year 11 and 12 students.

The first clinic at a school is free with subsequent clinics incurring a minimal charge. Sessions can be run throughout the year all around Adelaide (and nearby country areas). All equipment is supplied with the school simply needing to provide an oval (football and soccer pitch) suitable for use.

Coaching can also be provided for teachers and we have previously been involved with the ACHPER teacher development conferences.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide any school visits during Term 4 2007. Some exciting new programs are currently being planned for 2008 so please stay tuned for more detail. Enquiries should be directed to Norm Murphy on 0409 190 228 or president@gaelicfootballsa.com.au
