Australasian State Championships 2009

The 2009 Australasian Championships in Victoria have been completed, and a big congratulations to the South Australian Women’s team who won through to the Grand Final! Unfortunately they couldn’t quite bring the trophy back to SA, narrowly losing a hard fought grand final to Western Australia.

Congratulations also to the SA Minors team, who played some superb Gaelic Football during the week and made the semi finals, but lost a very close final in extra time to the eventual champions, Victoria.

Unfortunately the SA Men’s team didn’t make the finals this year, after paying the price for two very close losses in the opening two rounds. It was a very inexperienced SA Men’s team this year, and the players will be much better for the experience for the 2010 games in Auckland!

A photographer from Darkensportz (www.darkensportz.com.au) covered the games, and photos are available for sale and can be viewed on their website here.

Information on best players of the tournament will be posted here shortly.
